With the recent decline in leisure travel, Tauck World
Discovery, a $300M company with a reputation for excellence needed
to immediately assess to impact of reduced travel levels on their
operations and their bottom line.
Time to market on this implementation was imperative to ensure that
the maximum return could be achieved.
Virtual Strategy provided Tauck with an easy to use
solution that leveraged their existing systems AS/400 and SQL databases
to create a profitability/yield model previously unavailable due
to the disparate currencies and products included in tours.
In addition, VSI created a suite of tour analysis
and forecasting tools that allowed executives to track current market
conditions, intelligently compare booking patterns, and forecast
travel levels for the near future. The result is a solution that
allows for short term analysis of current departures as well as
long term market analysis for use in project planning and corporate
restructuring.
